In February 2021, we received the devastating news that Tim Reintjes had passed away. In the period that followed it became clear just how big an impression he had made on so many people around us. Lots of stories were shared (and are still being shared), all of them underlining what an immense loss it is to not have Tim with us anymore.

Tim played in amazing bands like Teef, Karmic Seeds and Graansilo. But there was another band, consisting of Tim and drummer Arnoud Lievers, that went by a lot of names: Kutskater, Kutmaan, Wondkoorts, and that’s just to name a few. I’m sure there are lots I’m forgetting.

Regretfully, no music was released by Wondkoorts in their time. There were plans to make an EP with a handful of songs but sadly enough, those plans didn’t bloom in time.

But! Here it comes: At their first show (supporting Eastern Comfort at their release show on the 25th of May 2018 at Brigant in Arnhem), sound engineer Dennis Spee was smart enough to push one extra little button and oh yes: he recorded the whole thing.

We are so very grateful to tell you that about 6 years later, these recordings were dusted off and hereby released as a live album: ‘WONDKOORTS - LIVE AT BRIGANT, ARNHEM’. Finally, this can be listened to. And watched as well! Arnoud made a video using footage of the show and paired it with some very weird stuff. The thunderous walls of echoing noise, the pounding drums, the mesmerising vocals, THE BATHROBES! It’s all there! (This video will be released today at 19:00).

So please indulge us, take a moment. Sit back, pour yourself something nice, and get catapulted back in time to a sweaty, smelly Friday night on which Wondkoorts played a show that will now possibly and probably echo on and and on and on forever, through these recordings. Share this with anyone who you think might enjoy it, the music deserves it.
